Finding Inception

Charles showed up at the hotel promptly at noon. He was quite eager about this experience and didn't want to be late. It's not long before he's knocking the door of the hotel room that Arthur occupies.

At first, he scrabbles at his shirt front, thinking he's still wounded. No wound but blimey it still stings from the memory.

He only breathes a sigh of relief when Arthur wakes up next to him, relaxing back in the chair for a moment. "Still here and in one piece...as far as I can tell." His enthusiasm had dampened somewhat about a return trip following that.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine."

Still a bit panicked but he's glad that they're both okay. That they're in the real world and not the dream world. He didn't like that but then again he has a feeling he knows why the projections converged on the telepath.

Charles attempts to laugh it off but he was a little jumpy as well. "Not exactly ready for round two but I'm convalesing."

Slow breath out, hand to his own chest. "And its always like that?" Charles now wonders if its the medication itself that causes the reaction. Without the pasiv he could do the same dreamsharing while awake. He has done it before with people and never had a problem.

"Not always, no. It depends on the projections and what someone has done to alter the reality within the dream. Much as you did with me there. When you showed me your trick. I think that's what truly set them off."

Or perhaps it was something else all together.

"Ahh, so even something small...that is a pity, one can never stay for long."

He stands to stretch his limbs, still hooked to the IV so he takes care not to pull it. "I almost think I would do much better without the somnicin."

"No one can enter the dream world without the somnacin," he says moving over to Charles to gently pull out the IV. "Unfortunately it is a necessary evil in dreamsharing."

A smile tugs at his mouth. "I wouldn't be too sure of that. In fact, I will bet you I can do it sans machine, somnicin, and all." Of course, if Arthur didn't want him influencing him that much, he won't do it. But sometimes he couldn't resist showing off. Just a bit.

"Even if you could, Charles, it wouldn't change how the projections perceive you. They'd still attack you. Drug or no drug." It'd be weird doing it without somnacin.

"Mm, possibly...but...if I wasn't asleep, that would be a different matter. I've done it before, from the outset." Though it was more to monitor and observe, he hadn't identified his own presence at the time. Usually someone dreaming naturally would wake up once they realized they were dreaming.

"There is no possibly Charles. It's what would happen." He may of never done it before but he's pretty sure that it would stay the same. "Perhaps at some point we could give it a try." Maybe. Though that depended on Charles.

"Any time you like." He felt a little better now after that initial shock. Anything he could control with his ability would seem easy in comparison.

"After a drink then? Something should be put in our system before we do anymore dreamsharing." He'd prefer that they had at least water in them if anything.

"Sounds good to me. Do you have anything handy?" He was hoping tea or scotch.

"Brandy or tea?" Arthur asks looking over at the telepath. Or there was water or he could find something else if Charles really wanted it.

"Tea please." He'll help if Arthur needs it in making the tea.

"How do you take it?" he asks heading into the little kitchen.

"With lemon if you've got it." Charles lets himself take a slow breath. That was quite the experience. He couldn't imagine doing that for a living.

"You need or want anything else?" he asks looking toward the other man even as he starts on the tea, pulling out a lemon and chopping it into halves.

[ooc: maybe after tea, Charles can fiddle with Arthur's dreams without either of them being hooked up to the pasiv?]

"Tea and a short breather, I should be ready to go at it again." This whole dream sharing business was intriguing to Charles. He did like finding the limits of his own abilities.

He gives a slight chuckle before pouring the tea after it's done and then placing the lemon on the glass. Once he's done that he moves over handing it to Charles.

"Here you are."

The fact the telepath was ready to go at it again was interesting.

"Ta," he accepts it, taking a sip with an approving sound. Tea~, it could fix anything, including nerves that had been rattled by being shot through the heart.

Arthur leans back against the wall with his own tea, something he doesn't drink often, and watches the other man. To be honest he thinks Eames would like him too. Maybe.

Arthur certainly thinks a lot of this person Eames. Charles does try not to eavesdrop but sometime he cannot help it.

"Such a strange line of work, when you think of it. Being paid to sleep for a living."

That Arthur does even if the forger is a pain in the ass. Always teasing the hell out of him. Shaking his head he gives a small smile, "It's not really being paid to sleep, per say. It's being paid to dream. It also depends on how many levels you go as well."

"So there are some that dream better than others." It made sense in a way, though not something Charles had ever thought of.

He finishes his tea, setting the cup and saucer down. "That hit the spot. I do believe I'm ready for round two, if you've a mind do to so."
